Mission:
The Investment Analyst will conduct much of the firm’s investment research to be used in a) establishing the firm’s recommended list of investment managers and b) determining any adjustments necessary to the firm’s asset allocation models. The Investment Analyst will organize and manage the company’s Investment Committee meetings.
Outcomes Expected of the Investment Analyst:
- Conduct research and perform analysis on potential investment vehicles
- Create macro-economic environment summaries and distribute to the Klingman team on an as needed basis
- Prepare all review materials for and distribute to team in advance of Klingman’s Investment Committee meetings
- Participate in Investment Committee meeting discussions and respond to all follow up questions within appropriate timeframe
- Maintain the firm’s recommended list of managers and asset allocation models together with corresponding details
- Research and draft responses to ad hoc client inquiries regarding investment vehicles in a timely fashion
- Manage the firm’s relationship with third party product specialists
- Assist the Chief Investment Officer and Director of Investments in the preparation of firm-wide investment commentaries
Role-Related Competencies Required:
- Minimum of 1-2 years’ work experience in investment research and analysis preferred
- Command of the principals of Modern Portfolio Theory including asset allocation (strategic and tactical)
- Strong capabilities with computer programs such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint, as well as research tools such as Morningstar Direct, Factset, Bloomberg, etc…
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable working in entrepreneurial environment
